Operation Cope Thaw: a pilot's chance to advance
U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Matthew Burrows, 87th Flying Training Squadron commander, explained the events of Operation Cope Thaw to instructor and student pilots sitting in the Anderson Hall auditorium, at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, on Jan. 31, 2022. Operation Cope Thaw involved all student and instructor pilots present to fly 17 T-38’s to the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, Arizona, to gain off-station mission experience.
