The former Kelly Air Force Base restoration project team is named one of the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2022 National Federal Facility Excellence in Site Reuse Award winners. Now designated Port San Antonio, the award recognizes the hard work and tremendous cooperation among the Air Force Civil Engineer Center BRAC program, EPA and state and local redevelopment agencies. Kelly Air Force Base was slated for realignment and/or closure under BRAC in 1995. The base officially closed in 2001. (Courtesy Photo)
