Zen Morgan, an athletic trainer from the 37th Training Wing, helps a trainee identify an aggravated injury during an appointment, March 2, 2023, at Joint Base San Antionio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Morgan works at the Versatile Injury Prevention and Embedded Recovery (VIPER) Clinic at basic military training and their mission is to ensure trainees remain in the training pipeline and complete BMT on time. Having athletic trainers embedded in the squadron helps ensure injuries are addressed early and minimizes the amount of instruction trainees miss while receiving treatment.
