12th Annual Blood, Sweat and Stairs: Honoring 9/11 First Responders
Students assigned to the 312th Training Squadron hoist tools up the side of a five-story tower using rope during the 12th Annual Blood, Sweat & Stairs event at the Louis F. Garland Department of Defense Fire Academy, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, Sept. 13, 2024. This obstacle simulated hoisting tools up the side of a building during an active situation, training participants for rescue operations. Each obstacle in the combat challenge demonstrated different physical abilities that were pertinent to success of rescue operations carried out by first responders after 9/11.
