A U.S. Navy E-6B Mercury aircraft, assigned to Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (VQ) 4, lands at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, Feb. 12, 2026. This aircraft supports U.S. Strategic Command’s Airborne Command Post, known as “Looking Glass,” providing airborne nuclear command, control, and communications capability that ensures the President and senior military leaders can direct U.S. strategic forces if ground-based command centers are compromised.
