  • Laughlin’s commissary is essential to the mission

    Not many customers interact with their store cashier and think their job is as crucial as a paramedic’s, firefighter’s or police officer’s. As it turns out, they are. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Defense announced on March 25 that all Defense Commissary Agency operations, including the commissary at Laughlin Air Force Base, are mission-critical.

    Col. Lee Gentile, 47th Flying Training Wing commander, signed a Women’s History Month proclamation, here on March 4, 2020. Since 1995, presidents have issued a series of annual proclamations designating the month of March as “Women’s History Month.” These proclamations celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields.

  • Laughlin instructor pilots accepted as foreign area officers

    Two instructor pilots, Maj. Will Smith, 47th Operations Group chief of training, and Capt. Andrew Campbell, 47th Operations Support Squadron assistant director of operations, stationed at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, were selected to become foreign affairs officers.
  • Exercise Ready Eagle expands skills of Laughlin AFB medics

    The 47th Medical Group pushed their abilities in the first Ready Eagle exercise at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, on the week of Jan.13, 2020. The week-long exercise taught, coached and tested the newly-learned skills the Ready Eagle team brought to the 47th MDG.
