  • NASCAR visits Special Warfare at Pope Army Air Field

    NASCAR driver, Erik Jones, visits the 352nd Special Warfare Training Squadron to better understand how Special Warfare Airmen are trained and developed at Pope Army Airfield, September 29, 2021. The visit is part of the U.S. Air Force Recruiting Service’s sponsorship of Richard Petty Motorsports with a presence on the NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) No. 43 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, established early January.
  • Human Performance Squadron reaches milestone

    The Special Warfare Human Performance Squadron, SWHPS, recently marked its second anniversary. The SWHPS is the first squadron of its kind in the Department of Defense, and its sole purpose is to provide Special Warfare Airmen and cadre embedded/holistic Human Performance, HP, support.
  • First Special Warfare Airmen graduate initial apprentice course for special reconnaissance

    The 352nd Special Warfare Training Squadron graduates the first wave of students from the new Special Reconnaissance Apprentice Course, June 17 at Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina. Formerly branded as Special Operations Weather Teams (SOWTs), the SR career field recently underwent a major restructuring. While short term weather forecasting will remain in the SR’s skillset, it will no longer dominate SR’s training and mission focus.
  • Memorial Log Carry for Special Warfare Training Wing Airman

    The 350th Special Warfare Training Squadron organized a two and a half-mile memorial log carry for fallen Airman, Lt. Col. William Schroeder, at the Special Warfare Training Wing located on Joint Base San Antonio-Chapman Training Annex Apr. 8, 2021.
  • Officials unveil Chapman plaque at JBSA-Randolph’s Airmen’s Heritage Park

    The late Master Sgt. John Chapman was honored during a plaque unveiling ceremony, hosted by members of the Special Warfare Training Wing at Airmen’s Heritage Park at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph March 4, 2021.
