  • The “Triangle Y” behind Mobility’s Hometown

    January 28, 1942, the U.S. Army Air Force established the 97th Bombardment Group. Its original mission: conduct antisubmarine patrols using the largest bomber aircraft of the time, the B-17 Flying Fortress. As time passed, the unit became one of the few heavy bombing groups to bomb Nazi territory during World War II.
  • 58th AS unveils new facility renovations

    The 58th Airlift Squadron held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the unveiling of their building renovations June 19, 2020. During the renovations, the 58th AS accomplished student training and utilized other facilities until the complete overhaul was accomplished.

    28 members from the 97th Air Mobility Wing received Community College of the Air Force degrees during a graduation ceremony, June 18, 2020. This ceremony celebrated the graduates of the fall 2019 and spring 2020 classes.
