    Just Do Right. That is exactly what Lieutenant Sharron Frontiero, now Sharron Cohen, did in 1970. As a physical therapist assigned to Maxwell Air Force Base, she refused to accept that the United States Air Force would not extend married female Airmen the same spousal benefits as married male Airmen.
  • EWI Fellows creating tangible results in a virtual world

    The United States Air Force’s Education with Industry, or EWI, program dates back to 1947. In its 73-year history, it has seen over 6,000 Fellows from more than 35 career fields loaned out to industry for a once in a lifetime behind the scenes look at some leading industry partners, too many to name here. Some of these Fellows went on to incredible career achievements, such as 1996 EWI alum and 2020 mid-tour guest speaker Maj. Gen. Michael J. Schmidt, a four-time program executive officer, now overseeing the command, control, communication, intelligence, and networks (C3N&I) at Hanscom AFB, Mass.

    The Thomas N. Barnes Center for Enlisted Education has begun a beta-test of its completely updated Airman Leadership School Distance Learning Course, ALS DLC 1.0.   • 189th, 314th AW conduct joint readiness exercise

    Airmen from the 189th Airlift Wing and 314th AW participated in a joint readiness exercise Aug. 12, 2020 at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. The exercise allowed for increased interoperability between the installation’s mission partners in order to enhance readiness.
  • Altus AFB honors USAFA Class of 2020 with ‘Pegasus’ flyover

    The hats of graduates were not the only things in the air above the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) during graduation week. Two KC-46 Pegasus aircraft assigned to the 56th Air Refueling Squadron and their aircrews supported the USAFA class of 2020 by executing a flyover of the Academy April 17, 2020.
