  • DLIELC Unveils New Aviation Language Training Center

    On November 6, 2020, DLIELC held a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new DLI Aviation Language Training Center which houses the Watkins Aviation Language Preparation Room and Sirois Aviation Simulation Lab (Sim Lab). This is the first and largest step by DLIELC in a long term plan to renovate the facility with moveable walls and state of the art virtual reality and artificial intelligence technology befitting a world class aviation training center.
  • 20 First Sergeants earn certification in Mental Health First Aid

    Nearly 20 first sergeants from the 37th Training Wing gathered Oct. 7 at the Pfingston Reception Center, JBSA-Lackland, Texas, to be certified in “Mental Health First Aid.” The eight-hour skills-based training course, taught by Lt. Col. (Dr.) Kieran Dhillon and Senior Master Sgt. Huey Watson, teaches participants about mental health and substance abuse issues.

Many Airmen come to Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland as formal technical training instructors; however, few earn the designation of master instructor – the highest honor Air Education and Training Command bestows on instructors.

  • U.S. Space Force achieves another milestone at Basic Military Training

    Another U.S. Space Force milestone was reached May 6 when the first all-Guardian flight graduated from Basic Military Training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. The 31 men in Flight 429 and four women in Flight 430 were assigned to the 324th Training Squadron and were among the 571 recruits who completed 7 1/2 weeks of training.
