    To ensure the safety of base aircrew and citizens residing near Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, a blanket Intergovernmental Support Agreement was utilized for the first time with the Alamo Area Council of Governments which incorporates a contract managed by Universal City, Texas. This historic partnership was publicly recognized at an event Nov. 10.

    The 340th Flying Training Group’s 39th Flying Training Squadron, initially activated as the 39th Pursuit Squadron in 1940, re-designated as the 39th FTS in 1999 and subsequently activated in the Reserve component in 2001, has a storied World War II past that’s being celebrated by its operational host, the 12th Flying Training Wing.
  • Centralized Cargo Operations: Unique team with critical mission

    One of the precautions taken by Air Education and Training Command leadership at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic was adding a second Basic Military Training location at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, to help better ensure physical distancing between recruits. Accomplishing this task required many other logistical modifications — a task Joint Base San Antonio's Centralized Cargo Operations team had a key role in.
