12th Flying Training Wing

The 12th Flying Training Wing, headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, develops the next generation of Air Force aviators and enlisted aircrew by providing world-class flying training and education. The wing trains Airmen in the fundamentals of airmanship, instruction and leadership, preparing them for success in operational units across the Air Force. Through undergraduate Combat Systems Officer training, Pilot Instructor Training, Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals, Remotely Piloted Aircraft pilot indoctrination, enlisted aviator training, and other specialized programs, the 12th FTW produces skilled, adaptable, and combat-ready professionals capable of meeting the demands of today's complex operating environment while strengthening the future of American airpower.

Pacific-based recruiter named as one of the Air Force’s 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas – Only an elite few are selected as one of the service’s twelve Outstanding Airmen of the Year, and for 2019, Tech. Sgt. Jeremiah Camper from the Air Force Recruiting Service can add his name to this select group.

Camper, program manager for Pacific recruiting operations recruiting for the 369th Recruiting Squadron based in Agana, Guam, learned of his selection during a conference call with the AETC command team of Lt. Gen. Brad Webb and Chief Master Sgt. Julie Gudgel, as well as the Air Force Recruiting Service command team of Maj. Gen. Ed Thomas and Chief Master Sgt. Sonia Lee, June 18.

Webb asked Camper about his thoughts on recruiting issues before breaking the news to Camper that he had been selected for the honor with a question about being an enlisted ambassador.

“I thought something might be up with everyone on the line,” Camper said. “The call turned into something different than what I thought it was going to be for sure. Thank you all.”

While targeting Secretary of the Air Force priorities for enlistment as a dual-role recruiter, Camper qualified 25% of his flight’s overall reservations and accessions while shipping 109 recruits to basic military training, setting the record for most shipments in his squadron’s history and tops in the group. He also restored a prior-service NCO to active-duty, saving the Air Force $55,000 in training costs and managed a $260,000 travel budget that resulted in a 100% on-time ship rate to BMT.

“When it comes to recruiting, Tech. Sgt. Camper is simply a powerhouse, as evidenced by the fact he tripled his production mission requirement and earning a Gold Badge,” Webb said. “We’re very proud of (Camper) and his accomplishments and it speaks to the type of person and Airmen he is.”

Leading off duty, Camper initiated the first “Feed the Hungry” program in Guam schools, leading 23 delayed enlistment program members in providing meals to 400 students.  He also completed Senior Enlisted Joint PME and earned two Community College of the Air Force degrees.

In April, Camper was honored as AETC’s top recruiter for 2019 and was also named the First Command’s 2019 NCO of the Year award winner.

Public Affairs Information

Tours of the 12th Flying Training Wing are provided to various community organizations, high schools, businesses, and academic military recruitment programs to educate their members about the 12th FTW mission.

Due to the high volume of requests and limited public affairs resources, tours and static displays are limited.

Please submit all requests in writing to the 12th FTW Public Affairs by email to 12ftw.pa.1@us.af.mil at least three weeks but no more than six weeks in advance. You may also call 210-652-1272.

Tours are not available on weekends and may be cancelled at any time because of increased security measures or mission requirements. The 12th FTW does not host tours of Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph at-large. To schedule a tour of JBSA-Randolph, please contact JBSA-Randolph Public Affairs at 502abw.pa.official@us.af.mil or dial 210-652-4410.

If desired, requestors must arrange all meals. PA will provide contact information to base eateries. Modified tours will be granted for those with limited mobility - this must be stated on the tour request. If not stated, it is assumed that mobility is not an issue.
