12th Flying Training Wing

The 12th Flying Training Wing, headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, develops the next generation of Air Force aviators and enlisted aircrew by providing world-class flying training and education. The wing trains Airmen in the fundamentals of airmanship, instruction and leadership, preparing them for success in operational units across the Air Force. Through undergraduate Combat Systems Officer training, Pilot Instructor Training, Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals, Remotely Piloted Aircraft pilot indoctrination, enlisted aviator training, and other specialized programs, the 12th FTW produces skilled, adaptable, and combat-ready professionals capable of meeting the demands of today's complex operating environment while strengthening the future of American airpower.

Call for topics now open for 2022 Air Force Learning Professionals’ Consortium

Joint Base San Antonio – Randolph, Texas – The call for topics for the 2022 Learning Professionals’ Consortium (LPC-22) has been released by AETC/A3B’s Learning Professionals Branch.

With a successful virtual event in 2021, the LPC-22 will also take place virtually on Zoomgov. Taking a cue from previous attendees, there will be a shift in how the event is presented.

“We know attending a virtual three-day event can be challenging,” said Dr. Angela “Angi” Canada, AETC/A3B Division chief. “The LPC-22 gives attendees the option to attend three unique individual events.”

The single-day events will take place Feb. 16, April 20, and June 22. The single-day events are intended to better accommodate attendees’ schedules, giving them an opportunity to learn best practices, hear successful collaboration stories, and gain solutions to learning issues. Each day will have presentations, interactive workshops and discussion forums, focusing on topics relevant to Learning Professionals.

Learning Professionals (personnel who analyze, design, develop, deliver, support, administer, manage, or evaluate education and training) from the Air Force and sister services, as well as industry and academic partners, interested in presenting at the LPC-22 can submit their topic here. Topics should support development of the Learning Professionals community. Presenting to this audience will give the opportunity to share best practices, successful collaboration stories, studies, skills or solutions to learning issues. Presenters are welcome to submit more than one topic. Topic submission forms are due no later than Sept. 30, 2021.

The theme of this year’s event is Explore – Engage – Accelerate and is an opportunity to bring together and develop the community of knowledgeable and committed Learning Professionals.

“We are excited to be able to offer this new single day format to enhance learning opportunities for the men and women we serve. Although it will be virtual, the three events offer flexibility and the ability for more Learning Professionals to interact, collaborate, and grow,” said Col. Shelly Mendieta, AETC/A3/6 deputy director for force development.

The Learning Professionals’ Consortium is designed for Learning Professionals across the Air Force to meet, interact and ultimately collaborate on innovations that will enhance learning for the men and women we serve. AETC/A3B’s goal is to build a community of Learning Professionals who work together to accelerate the transformation of the military learning paradigm.

Public Affairs Information

Tours of the 12th Flying Training Wing are provided to various community organizations, high schools, businesses, and academic military recruitment programs to educate their members about the 12th FTW mission.

Due to the high volume of requests and limited public affairs resources, tours and static displays are limited.

Please submit all requests in writing to the 12th FTW Public Affairs by email to 12ftw.pa.1@us.af.mil at least three weeks but no more than six weeks in advance. You may also call 210-652-1272.

Tours are not available on weekends and may be cancelled at any time because of increased security measures or mission requirements. The 12th FTW does not host tours of Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph at-large. To schedule a tour of JBSA-Randolph, please contact JBSA-Randolph Public Affairs at 502abw.pa.official@us.af.mil or dial 210-652-4410.

If desired, requestors must arrange all meals. PA will provide contact information to base eateries. Modified tours will be granted for those with limited mobility - this must be stated on the tour request. If not stated, it is assumed that mobility is not an issue.
