12th Flying Training Wing

The 12th Flying Training Wing, headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, develops the next generation of Air Force aviators and enlisted aircrew by providing world-class flying training and education. The wing trains Airmen in the fundamentals of airmanship, instruction and leadership, preparing them for success in operational units across the Air Force. Through undergraduate Combat Systems Officer training, Pilot Instructor Training, Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals, Remotely Piloted Aircraft pilot indoctrination, enlisted aviator training, and other specialized programs, the 12th FTW produces skilled, adaptable, and combat-ready professionals capable of meeting the demands of today's complex operating environment while strengthening the future of American airpower.

2023 Air Force Learning Professionals’ Consortium Call for Topics is Now Open

JOINT BASE SAN ANTIONIO – RANDOLPH, Texas – The call for topics for the 2023 Learning Professionals’ Consortium has been released by Air Education and Training Command’s Learning Professionals Branch.

The theme of the 2023 event is Imagine - Create – Innovate, with a focus on the development of the community of knowledgeable and committed Learning Professionals.

“As planning gets underway for the virtual event scheduled for March 22-23, 2023, it’s important that potential presenters have time to develop quality submissions,” said Dr. Angela Canada, AETC’s Learning Professionals’ and FD Credentialing Division chief. “In past years we have had presenters from not only the Department of the Air Force, but sister services, academia and industry as well. Our attendees expect high-caliber sessions.”

Learning Professionals are those personnel who analyze, design, develop, deliver, support, administer, manage, or evaluate education and training. The Learning Professionals’ Consortium gives attendees an opportunity to learn best practices, hear successful collaboration stories, and gain solutions to learning issues. The two-day event will feature keynote speakers, presentations, panels, and discussion forums, focusing on topics relevant to Learning Professionals.

Those interested in presenting at the LPC-23 can submit their topic here. Topics should support development of the Learning Professionals’ community. Presenters are welcome to submit more than one topic. Topic submission forms are due no later than Sept. 30.

“We are excited to continue to offer the opportunity to enhance learning development for the women and men we serve,” said Col. Shelly Mendieta, deputy director for Force Development for AETC’s Operations and Communications Directorate. “Through this virtual conference, we offer the ability for anyone who supports or works in a learning environment to interact, collaborate, and grow, no matter where their physical location.”

The Learning Professionals’ Consortium is designed for Learning Professionals across the Air Force to meet, interact, and ultimately collaborate on innovations that will enhance learning and development. The division’s goal is to build a community of Learning Professionals who work together to accelerate the transformation of the military learning paradigm.

Public Affairs Information

Tours of the 12th Flying Training Wing are provided to various community organizations, high schools, businesses, and academic military recruitment programs to educate their members about the 12th FTW mission.

Due to the high volume of requests and limited public affairs resources, tours and static displays are limited.

Please submit all requests in writing to the 12th FTW Public Affairs by email to 12ftw.pa.1@us.af.mil at least three weeks but no more than six weeks in advance. You may also call 210-652-1272.

Tours are not available on weekends and may be cancelled at any time because of increased security measures or mission requirements. The 12th FTW does not host tours of Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph at-large. To schedule a tour of JBSA-Randolph, please contact JBSA-Randolph Public Affairs at 502abw.pa.official@us.af.mil or dial 210-652-4410.

If desired, requestors must arrange all meals. PA will provide contact information to base eateries. Modified tours will be granted for those with limited mobility - this must be stated on the tour request. If not stated, it is assumed that mobility is not an issue.
