12th Flying Training Wing

The 12th Flying Training Wing, headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, develops the next generation of Air Force aviators and enlisted aircrew by providing world-class flying training and education. The wing trains Airmen in the fundamentals of airmanship, instruction and leadership, preparing them for success in operational units across the Air Force. Through undergraduate Combat Systems Officer training, Pilot Instructor Training, Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals, Remotely Piloted Aircraft pilot indoctrination, enlisted aviator training, and other specialized programs, the 12th FTW produces skilled, adaptable, and combat-ready professionals capable of meeting the demands of today's complex operating environment while strengthening the future of American airpower.

Learning Professionals’ speakers’ series set for 2023

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO- RANDOLPH, Texas-- Air Education and Training Command’s (AETC) Learning Professionals’ Branch has announced its 2023 calendar for the Learning Professionals’ Question and Answer virtual speaker series.

Included in the scheduled presenters for 2023 are Dr. Jerrod Borup from the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University; Dr. Shanita Williams, Associate Vice President of People Experience for the People Team at Southern New Hampshire University; Staff Sgt. Michael Myer from the 363d Training Squadron at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas; Dr. Stephanie Moore from the Organization, Information and Learning Sciences department at the University of New Mexico; Dr. Elizabeth D. Woodworth from the Air War College at Air University at Maxwell AFB, Alabama; Dr. Mark Reith from the Air Force Institute of Technology; and Mr. Richard Goring from BrightCarbon Presentation Design Agency.

“The LPQ&A is a great way to invest an hour each month,” said Dr. Angi Canada, AETC Learning Professionals and FD Credentials Division chief. “The topics are relevant for Learning Professionals and support the sharing of knowledge and experiences. The series is designed for Learning Professionals across the Air and Space Forces to enhance learning for the men and women we serve. Our goal is to build a community of Learning Professionals who work together to accelerate the transformation of the military learning paradigm.”

“Even before I joined AETC, while I was still in my previous position, I attended virtual LPQ&A events,” said Dr. Wendy Walsh, AETC’s chief learning officer. “They are valuable opportunities to connect with presenters and topics of interest from other groups from across the Department of Defense, industry and academia.”

Dr. Walsh also said, “Another wonderful benefit of these LPQ&A sessions is that they are recorded and available on the Learning Professionals website. If you’re not able to make it to the live virtual event, you can still take advantage of the learning opportunity and unit officials can encourage team viewing and discussion sessions.”

Public Affairs Information

Tours of the 12th Flying Training Wing are provided to various community organizations, high schools, businesses, and academic military recruitment programs to educate their members about the 12th FTW mission.

Due to the high volume of requests and limited public affairs resources, tours and static displays are limited.

Please submit all requests in writing to the 12th FTW Public Affairs by email to 12ftw.pa.1@us.af.mil at least three weeks but no more than six weeks in advance. You may also call 210-652-1272.

Tours are not available on weekends and may be cancelled at any time because of increased security measures or mission requirements. The 12th FTW does not host tours of Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph at-large. To schedule a tour of JBSA-Randolph, please contact JBSA-Randolph Public Affairs at 502abw.pa.official@us.af.mil or dial 210-652-4410.

If desired, requestors must arrange all meals. PA will provide contact information to base eateries. Modified tours will be granted for those with limited mobility - this must be stated on the tour request. If not stated, it is assumed that mobility is not an issue.
