Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.-- A new photo was added to the Enlisted Heritage Hall’s Wall of Achievers, Dec. 9, 2022, during a small ceremony at the hall on Maxwell Air Force Base Gunter Annex, Ala.
Brig. Gen. Donna M. Prigmore, Oregon Air National Guard commander, received the honor, increasing the number of inductees to 180.
“I am so incredibly proud of my enlisted time,” Prigmore said during her acceptance speech, “and I’m still in [the Air Force] because I love it.”
The Wall of Achievers was created in the 1980s to honor prior enlisted general officers but has evolved to include other former enlisted Airmen such as celebrities, politicians and public figures.
Prigmore started her enlisted military career on April 9, 1982, serving as a weather equipment specialist and later as an administrative specialist. She was commissioned on April 23, 1990, after receiving her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, Ariz. in 1989.
By earning the rank of brigadier general and having previously served as an enlisted Airman, Prigmore solidified her spot on the wall.
“The reason why I wanted to be a part of this was to show my dad,” Prigmore said. “Look dad, I did it. You pushed me in this direction, and it worked. This is for my dad.”
The Enlisted Heritage Hall, part of the Thomas N. Barnes Center for Enlisted Education, houses an array of exhibits and artifacts honoring the contributions of enlisted Airmen throughout aviation history.
