12th Flying Training Wing

The 12th Flying Training Wing, headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, develops the next generation of Air Force aviators and enlisted aircrew by providing world-class flying training and education. The wing trains Airmen in the fundamentals of airmanship, instruction and leadership, preparing them for success in operational units across the Air Force. Through undergraduate Combat Systems Officer training, Pilot Instructor Training, Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals, Remotely Piloted Aircraft pilot indoctrination, enlisted aviator training, and other specialized programs, the 12th FTW produces skilled, adaptable, and combat-ready professionals capable of meeting the demands of today's complex operating environment while strengthening the future of American airpower.

CMSAF makes inaugural visit to Basic Military Training

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas -- Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force David A. Flosi made his first official visit to a Basic Military Training graduation, June 20. As the 20th CMSAF, Flosi’s presence underscored the significance of the event for the newest graduates of the Air Force and Space Force. 

During the graduation parade Flosi addressed the graduates, highlighting the importance of their journey and the critical role they will play in the future of the Air Force and Space Force. 

CMSAF makes inaugural visit to Basic Military Training

Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, David A. Flosi, conducted his inaugural visit to the 37th Training Wing at Joint Base Lackland on June 20th, 2024. During his visit, Chief Flosi toured the Zero Week facilities (323rd Training Squadron) and the Basic Military Training Airmen Training Complex (331st Squadron), known as the Wolfpack, within the 737th Training Group. Additionally, he observed a military working dog demonstration at the 341st Training Squadron and engaged with new military recruiters at the 344th Recruiting Teach School within the 37th Training Group.  “Each of you are privileged to dawn this uniform, the cloth of our nation, you are part of a winning team, the most powerful and lethal Air Force and Space Force the world has ever known,” Flosi said. 

The visit to the 37th Training Wing also provided Flosi with the opportunity to engage directly with the new Airmen, Guardians, and their families. He spent time listening to their experiences, answering questions, and offering words of encouragement. 

In addition to the graduation ceremony, Flosi visited several training squadrons. His first stop was at the 323rd Training Squadron where trainees begin their initial five days of training, known as Zero Week. 

He then toured the 331 TRS an Airmen training complex, followed by a visit to the 344 TRS where he met with recruiting instructors and students. 

His visit also included a tour of the 341TRS, where he examined Military Working Dog kennels and their training program. 

Public Affairs Information

Tours of the 12th Flying Training Wing are provided to various community organizations, high schools, businesses, and academic military recruitment programs to educate their members about the 12th FTW mission.

Due to the high volume of requests and limited public affairs resources, tours and static displays are limited.

Please submit all requests in writing to the 12th FTW Public Affairs by email to 12ftw.pa.1@us.af.mil at least three weeks but no more than six weeks in advance. You may also call 210-652-1272.

Tours are not available on weekends and may be cancelled at any time because of increased security measures or mission requirements. The 12th FTW does not host tours of Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph at-large. To schedule a tour of JBSA-Randolph, please contact JBSA-Randolph Public Affairs at 502abw.pa.official@us.af.mil or dial 210-652-4410.

If desired, requestors must arrange all meals. PA will provide contact information to base eateries. Modified tours will be granted for those with limited mobility - this must be stated on the tour request. If not stated, it is assumed that mobility is not an issue.
