The 2024 Air Force Recruiting Service (AFRS) Marketing Conference, held from July 15-18 in Austin, Texas, was a pivotal event for the organization's marketing and recruiting teams. This annual conference brought together industry experts, Total Force recruiters, and marketing professionals to exchange insights and strategies aimed at enhancing the marketing and outreach process.

A key highlight of the conference was the series of breakout sessions that provided attendees with vital updates on current strategies and future program enhancements. These sessions covered a range of topics, from digital marketing innovations to data-driven strategies.

“Our annual marketing conference brings together representatives from all of the Total Force components and the Space Force to share best practices, learn about emerging marketing trends and tactics, and to craft local marketing plans for the upcoming year,” said Mr. Barry Dickey, Chief of Air Force Strategic Marketing.

An important update for the marketing pros focused on the future target population known as Generation A, or Gen A, born between 2010 and 2025. In just three short years, Gen A will begin to enter recruiting eligibility window.

Another critical session addressed the evolving landscape of social media marketing. Presenters discussed the latest trends in social media platforms and how they can be leveraged for potential recruits. This included strategies for creating compelling content, utilizing influencers, and measuring the effectiveness of social media campaigns.

The conference also featured a session on data analytics and its role in shaping recruitment strategies. Attendees learned about the latest tools and techniques for collecting and analyzing data to gain insights into candidate behavior and preferences. This data-driven approach was highlighted as essential for making informed decisions and optimizing recruitment efforts.

Looking ahead to 2025, industry experts shared their predictions and best practices. They emphasized the need for adaptability and continuous learning to keep pace with the rapidly changing recruiting landscape. The conference concluded with a call to action for attendees to implement the insights and strategies gained during the event, ensuring that the Air Force remains at the forefront of recruitment excellence.
