MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- The 2024 The Department of the Air Force IT and Cyberpower Education and Training Event is scheduled to be held August 26-28 at Montgomery, Alabama.
The event hosts leaders in IT and cyber development, where attendees will have the opportunity to learn how innovations in those areas can help further the Air Force’s goal of modernizing its force for an era of great power and competition.
This year’s theme, Reoptimizing IT & Cyber: Posturing the Department of Air Force for Great Power Competition, will examine the ever-changing ways in which big data and emerging cyber technologies are reshaping the landscape.
“We have hosted this event for many years in the Montgomery area,” said Princess Cuthrell, one of the key members of the event’s planning committee. “One change attendees will notice this year is the conference is now three full days. This allows the opportunity to hear from more from our DAF senior leaders and industry partners via key notes and breakout sessions.”
In addition to a variety of guest speakers and a massive vendor space, DAFIT also offers breakout training sessions, where attendees are given the chance to have face-to-face discussions with innovators working in similar fields.
“Each year DAFITC offers well over 150 unique breakout training session in several currently themed and engaging topic areas,” Cuthrell said. “For 2024, we have four Breakout Training Tracks in support of the theme listed below and breakout session will align with one of the four tracks. Track 1: Power Projection; Track 2: Develop People; Track 3: Generate Readiness and Track 4: Develop Capabilities.”

- Ms. Venice Goodwine, Chief Information Officer for the Department of the Air Force
- Lt. Gen. Leah G. Lauderback, Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Cyber Effects Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force.
- Mr. Kevin Mulvihill, career member of the Senior Executive Service and serves as the Acting DoD Principal Deputy Chief Information Officer.
- Toni Townes-Whitley, chief executive officer of SAIC
