JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, TEXAS –Airmen and Guardians now have another option for completing their required Total Force Awareness Training (TFAT). The training is now available on the Air Force e-Learning (DAFeL) platform, accessible at https://usaf.percipio.com/.
Learners can choose to complete the mandatory training on either DAFeL or myLearning, and completion reports will be consolidated and accessible through Envision, which is the DAF's mission readiness reporting platform.
DAFeL, launched in June 2023, is part of the effort to optimize force development and simplify access to training. By bringing TFAT to the new platform, Airmen and Guardians now have a more streamlined and user-friendly way to complete their required trainings, which includes topics such as annual Cyber Awareness training.
“The DAFeL platform provides a user-friendly learning experience, giving Airmen and Guardians the ability to complete annual requirements without lengthy and confusing workarounds,” said Adam Rasmussen, AETC Learning Services division chief. “Our goal is that learning resources are available anytime and anywhere, ensuring Airmen have the flexibility to tailor learning at their own pace, empowering them to balance professional development with operational demands.”
Use of DAFeL will also help ease the administrative burden on Unit Training Managers by allowing them to easily record completions for training accomplished offline, such as in-person classes, and automatically assign these mandatory training events to reduce instances of overdue training.
"We acknowledge that recent system modifications may have resulted in ‘change fatigue’ within the field," said Chief Master Sgt. Eric Johnson, Education & Training (3F2) Career Field Manager. "However, this transition to DAFeL presents a significant opportunity for improvement by consolidating data from multiple platforms into a single, actionable interface.”
DAFeL streamlines processes and enhances efficiency, Johnson said.
“This adaptable system enables an iterative approach to development, allowing us to respond effectively to user feedback and evolving requirements,” noted Johnson. “The 3F2 community expresses its gratitude to AETC for the opportunity to collaborate on this initiative and ensure our Airmen's needs are met.”
Reenrollment for recurring training is also addressed with the move to DAFeL.
"From an efficiency perspective, offering TFAT in DAFeL will save time and effort by automatically assigning TFAT due dates based on a learner's most recent completion for each course, eliminating manual enrollment for recurring training events," Rasmussen said. "Leaders will also gain better insight into their unit's readiness with combined reports from myLearning, DAFeL, and Joint Knowledge Online, all viewable through Envision."
