ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Airmen from the 97th Air Mobility Wing integrated with the U.S. Air Force Weapons School to support a Joint Forcible Entry training scenario, simulating real-world combat operations at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, May 27–30, 2025.
The objective of the scenario was to combine mobility aircraft, fighter jets, and other joint forces to penetrate enemy airspace, secure a key location, and withdraw all personnel and equipment safely back to friendly territory.
Capt. Andrew Miller-Bissell, 58th AS chief of command and control operations, explained how the 58th AS contributed to the mission.
“Being out here to participate, to see the people that we've trained and see how they've grown through their progression is very rewarding for us," said Miller-Bissell. “We know that we gave them the basics that they expand upon to then execute in such a higher-end environment.”
Weapons School Integration involves the planning and execution of every aspect of air, space and cyber combat operations, with joint force components converging over the Nevada Test and Training Range. For Tech. Sgt. Alex Green, 97th TRS evaluator loadmaster, the mission brought years of preparation into practice.
“This is a great example of how we can train to prepare for future conflicts,” he said. “We can figure out some of our strengths and weaknesses and sharpen up the national defense strategy and how we're going to implement it.”
