KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- The Air Force’s only Military Training Leader Course is doubling from a two-week to a four-week class to provide graduates with a more robust skill-set beginning Oct. 24, 2016.
“We’re providing our new MTLs great leadership training with this revamped curriculum,” said Mullen. “We’re excited and ready to engage our NCO, senior NCO and international students; it’s an incredible opportunity to lead by example and inspire, after all that’s what our Airmen deserve.”
The new MTL students will now receive Human Behavior and the Profession of Arms Center of Excellence training, which is all focused on Human Capital.
“Our Faculty Development team has worked diligently to build the new curriculum, which modernizes the course to meet the demands of today’s training climate,” said Master Sgt. Kyle Mullen, 81st TRSS schoolhouse instructor.
This marks the first major change to the course since 2012. The additional training will help the MTLs build and sustain a thriving and resilient Air Force community.
“We’re thrilled about the additional content added to our course,” said Tech. Sgt. Alexandria Valdez, 81st TRSS MTL schoolhouse instructor. “Keesler is a premier technical training location and we are taking advantage of this by utilizing the triangle and all of its facilities to maximize the training environment.”
Once MTLs graduate from this new course, they will be better equipped to mentor, train and lead technical training students as soon as they arrive at their permanent duty assignment.
The first four-week class will graduate Nov. 18 in front of approximately 2,000 Airmen at the triangle. The graduation is open to the Keesler community.
