Altus AFB Hosts Kids Deployment Line Published Aug. 8, 2019 By Airman 1st Class Breanna Klemm 97th AMW Public Affairs ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 97th Air Mobility Wing hosted a Kids Deployment Line welcoming children on base to experience a ‘kid-friendly’ deployment simulation, August 1, 2019, at Altus Air Force Base, Okla. During the Kids Deployment Line, children were offered the opportunity to experience real-world Air Force drills and activities that could be part of deployment preparation. Some of these activities included wearing hazardous material equipment, performing a Physical Training test and learning about Security Forces tactics. Military children and their families were also offered back-to-school supplies from base-wide vendors and were welcomed to the hangar with a tour of a C-17 Globemaster III, lunch and snow-cones. The Kids Deployment Line serves as an opportunity for squadrons around base to demonstrate to children what their families do for work every day, strengthening the bond between Warrior Airmen and their families.
