MAJOR GENERAL ROBERTUS C.N. REMKES

Maj. Gen. Robertus C.N. Remkes is the Director, Air Component Coordination Element, Air Force Central Command, Kabul, Afghanistan. In this capacity he serves as the CENTCOM Coalition Force Air Component Commander's personal representative to the Commander of Headquarters International Security Assistance Force, ensuring the optimal integration of air and space power in support of Headquarters ISAF and Operation Enduring Freedom missions.

General Remkes received his commission upon graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1977 and completed pilot training at Reese Air Force Base, Texas, in December 1978. His commands include a squadron, group, wing and the Air Force Recruiting Service. He has flown the T-37, T-38, T-1, C-130, F-4, F-16 and the F-15. General Remkes is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Fighter Weapons School. He is a command pilot with more than 2,700 hours of flight time.
