STAN C. NEWBERRY

Stan C. Newberry, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Deputy Director of Requirements, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va. Mr. Newberry directs all combat air force modernization and sustainment activities to include gathering, developing, advocating and refining requirements, across fighters, bombers, munitions, command and control, test and training, combat support, airborne networking, and tactical edge communications. Mr. Newberry guides resources by ensuring roadmaps, concepts and plans integrate capabilities across the combat air force. He also develops and prioritizes science and technology investment needs, and manages technology transition efforts through collaboration with staff elements, industry, academia, and government agencies to focus investment on satisfying top weapon systems requirements. Mr. Newberry additionally represents the Air Force for defining joint and multinational requirements for fifth generation fighters.

Mr. Newberry began his career in 1983 with NASA. In 1998 he became Director, Space Operations, Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas, responsible for the management and operation of control facilities and communications across NASA. Mr. Newberry's last assignment before transferring to the Air Force in 2005 was Deputy Director of the Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California. Prior to his current position, Mr. Newberry served as the Director of the Air Force Command and Control Integration Center. There his role was to manage, integrate and improve Air Force command and control. His responsibilities included planning, programming, guiding requirements and architecture development, integration and standardization efforts for Air Force warfighting aerial networks, combat support and C2 systems. He directed lead command activities for defining, advocating and directing sustainment and modernization strategies for the air and space operation center and tactical datalinks. Mr. Newberry also represented the Air Force on joint and coalition C2 system interoperability activities.
