MAJOR GENERAL THOMAS R. "TC" COON

Maj. Gen. Thomas R. "TC" Coon is the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander and President, Air University. He assists in providing full spectrum education, research, and outreach at every level through professional military education, professional continuing education, and academic degree granting. He assists in leading The Intellectual and Leadership Center of the Air Force, graduating more than 50,000 resident and 120,000 non-resident officers, enlisted and civilian personnel each year.

General Coon entered the Air Force in 1976 as a distinguished graduate of the ROTC program and has held various operational, command and staff positions. He has served as a Mobilization Assistant at USCYBER Command/National Security Agency, 9th Air Force/CENTAF, on the Air Staff; and has served on the Reserve Forces Policy Board, reporting to the Secretary of Defense. The general commanded, 10th Air Force, comprising all combat, space and flying training units in the Air Force Reserve, and has commanded a fighter squadron and an operations group.

General Coon is a distinguished graduate of the USAF Fighter Weapons School with more than 4,500 hours in fighter aircraft, including combat time in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. In his civilian occupation, he is an airline pilot, flying the Boeing 777.
