MAJOR GENERAL KEITH W. MEURLIN

Maj. Gen. Keith W. Meurlin is the acting Director, Office of Transition Policy and Care Coordination, Washington, D.C. He is responsible for policy and programs related  to disability systems, servicemember transitions to veteran status, separations from the Armed Forces and wounded warrior care coordination. He works closely with the Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal agencies to ensure medical and nonmedical services are provided across the full continuum of care for wounded servicemembers, veterans and families from recovery to rehabilitation through reintegration.

General Meurlin was born in Burlington, Vt. He earned his commission through the Army ROTC program in 1972. He served on active duty as a KC-135 pilot and in the Air National Guard as a C-7 pilot. In 1985 he joined the Reserve and served in numerous positions in aircraft maintenance, at an Air Logistics Center, on the Air Staff, and at headquarters Air Mobility Command, Air Combat Command and Air Force Materiel Command.

In his civilian occupation, he retired in April 2005 from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority where he served for 28 years and was the Vice President and Airport Manager of Washington Dulles International Airport.
