MAJOR GENERAL JIM L. FOLSOM

Maj. Gen. Jim L. Folsom is the mobilization assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Air and Space Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. 

General Folsom entered the Air Force in 1963 as a graduate of the University of Tulsa ROTC program. He has commanded maintenance and tactical airlift squadrons, and served as vice commander of a wing and numbered air force. He is a command pilot, having flown more than 6,000 hours, primarily in tactical airlift. He flew as a tanker aircraft commander in Southeast Asia. In January 1991, while on his second 30-day volunteer tour in support of Operation Desert Shield, the general was activated for Operation Desert Storm and commanded a composite group of Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard C-130s. In his civilian occupation, he is an airline captain.
