BRIGADIER GENERAL CHARLES H. KING

Brig. Gen. Charles H. King is Vice Commander, Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

General King was commissioned as a distinguished graduate of the Clemson University ROTC program. He entered active duty in 1967 after completing a master's degree program and served a four-year tour of duty as a civil engineering officer at various locations in the United States and the Pacific. During this time, he commanded a civil engineering squadron with the 355th Tactical Fighter Wing at Takhli Royal Thai AFB, Thailand.

The general joined the Air Force Reserve upon separation from active duty in 1971. He was assigned as an individual mobilization augmentee  to the Aeronautical Systems Division at Wright-Patterson AFB where he was an acquisition and civil engineering staff officer as well as development engineering manager. He performed duty in several major system program offices, including the B-1B, B-52, F-16 and LANTIRN. He commanded an Aeronautical Systems Division Reserve Detachment at Arnold AFB, Tenn., and later served as senior IMA for engineering in the Directorate of Science and Technology, Air Force Materiel Command. Prior to his present assignment, General King served as mobilization assistant to the Director, Science and Technology, Air Force Materiel Command, and as mobilization assistant to the Air Force Technology Executive Officer and Commander, Air Force Research Laboratory.
