MICHAEL J. "MIKE" DUNN

Michael J. "Mike" Dunn is Technical Director, Global Positioning System Wing, Space and Missile Systems Center, Air Force Space Command, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif. He serves as the primary technical adviser to the GPS wing commander.  Mr. Dunn oversees the design, development, acquisition, integration, and testing of critical GPS space systems, operational control systems, and user equipment systems to provide sustained and enhanced position, navigation, and timing information to warfighters and civil users worldwide.

Mr. Dunn was commissioned in the Air Force as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and served 30 years. In his last military assignment, he was Director of Launch Programs where he led acquisition, engineering, and operational support for Titan II/IV, Atlas IIA/IIAS/III, and Delta II launch system families, plus Centaur and Inertial Upper Stages. He certified the flightworthiness of each vehicle and served as Air Force mission director. His government and industry team set a record 33 consecutive mission successes. Mr. Dunn previously served as the GPS Space Group Director, leading satellite development, launch and on-orbit support.
