BARBARA A. SISSON

Selected for reassignment as Assistant Chief, Army Reserve, Office of the Chief of Army Reserve, Headquarters, Department of the Army, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

Barbara A. Sisson, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Director of Logistics, Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters Air Education and Training Command, Joint Base San Antonio Randolph, Texas. The directorate provides maintenance engineering, supply, transportation, civil engineering, and security forces support for 12 bases. The directorate also oversees plans and policies supporting integration of new weapons systems into the command inventory, including the F-22A, CV-22, C-130J, F-35 and TH-1H.

Ms. Sisson graduated first in her Naval ROTC class at the University of Notre Dame and was commissioned an ensign in the Civil Engineer Corps in 1980. Her active-duty assignments included tours with Navy Public Works Center; Construction Battalions, Atlantic; and the Civil Engineer Corps Officer School. As a Navy Reservist, Ms. Sisson served in numerous leadership positions, most recently as the Chief of Staff and Deputy Engineer for USCENTCOM's Logistics Directorate. She has also served as Commander, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 23; Commander, Contingency Engineering Unit, Atlantic; Commodore, 3rd Naval Construction Regiment; and Commander, Theater Contingency Engineering Management, U.S. Southern Command.

Ms. Sisson has more than 25 years of federal service, including assignments with Naval Facilities Engineering Command, U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Army, and the Central Command. She has also performed considerable engineering consulting work in the private sector.
