Brigadier General GLENN T. HARRIS

Brig. Gen. Glenn T. Harris is the Director of Operations at Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. As director, he provides policy, guidance, and advocates for resources for the command’s nuclear and conventional forces. The command is responsible for organizing, training, equipping and maintaining combat-ready forces that provide strategic deterrence and global strike for USSTRATCOM and other geographic combatant commands. The command comprises more than 33,700 professionals operating at two numbered Air Forces and twelve active-duty, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve wings. Weapons systems assigned to the command include Minuteman III ICBMs; B-1, B-2, and B-52 bombers; UH-1N and MH-139 helicopters; the E-4B National Airborne Operations Center aircraft, and the NC3 system.

Brig. Gen. Harris graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in May 1995. He has commanded at the squadron and wing levels, including the 91st Missile Wing, Minot AFB, North Dakota. He also has held a field operating agency staff assignment as the Vice Commander of the Air Force Inspection Agency, headquartered at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico.

Brig. Gen. Harris holds master’s degrees from Central Michigan University and The National War College. Prior to his current position, Brig. Gen. Harris was Deputy Director of Global Operations, Headquarters, United States Strategic Command, Offutt AFB, Nebraska.
