Brigadier General CHRISTOPHER E. MENUEY

Brig. Gen. Christopher E. Menuey is the Deputy Director of Global Operations, United States Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. As Deputy Director, he serves as the command lead for nuclear operations and is responsible for the day-to-day readiness of U.S. nuclear command and control and strategic deterrent forces. He is also responsible for synchronizing component, joint and coalition operations and directing assigned forces to achieve USSTRATCOM and national objectives.

Brig. Gen. Menuey received his commission through the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1996. He has held a variety of operational and staff assignments, including command of the 90th Operations Support Squadron, 341st Operations Group and 91st Missile Wing. His staff assignments include the Joint Staff, U.S. Strategic Command and Air Force Space Command. Brig. Gen. Menuey is a School of Advanced Air and Space Studies graduate and was a National Defense Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

Prior to his current position, Brig. Gen. Menuey was the Principal Assistant Deputy Administrator for Military Application, National Nuclear Security Administration, Department of Energy, Washington, D.C., where he assisted the Deputy Administrator for Defense Programs in maintaining the safety, security and reliability of the nation’s nuclear weapons stockpile.
