Brigadier General MATTHEW E. JONES

Brig. Gen. Matt Jones serves as the Director, Global Reach Programs, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Arlington, Virginia. As the capability director, he is responsible to the Air Force Acquisition Executive for a $10 billion program portfolio, which includes the KC-46, KC-135, C-5, C-17, C-130, CNS/ATM, OSA/VIPSAM, VC-25A, Looking Glass-Next, NAOC, SAOC, CV-22, HH-60, MH-139, LAIRCM, M-Code Aviation Receiver Enterprise, T-1, T-38, T-6 and T-7.

Brig. Gen. Jones received his commission through the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1999 where he commanded the cadet wing. He has commanded at the squadron, and multiple times at the wing level. His staff assignments include the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Joint Staff, and Headquarters U.S. Air Force Staff. He was an Air Force Chief of Staff scholar at Harvard. He has flown combat missions in support of operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Prior to his current assignment, Brig. Gen. Jones was the Deputy Director for Operations, J3, Joint Staff, the Pentagon, Arlington, Va.
