Maj. Gen. Randall A. Ogden, is the Commander, 4th Air Force, Air Force Reserve Command, March Air Reserve Base, California, and commands the Reserve's long-range airlift and air-refueling units located throughout the continental U.S., Hawaii and Guam. Fourth Air Force is dedicated to ensuring assigned units and personnel are properly organized, trained, equipped and ready to support national security requirements across the full spectrum of operations from war to contingency situations. Fourth Air Force provides leadership, management and oversight to 17 flying wings and one regional support group, which provide strategic airlift, airdrop, aeromedical, air refueling and associated expeditionary support activities. Fourth Air Force’s responsibilities encompass 300 units and more than 33,500 personnel.
General Ogden has been assigned to a variety of units holding positions as an evaluator, pilot, tactics officer, Chief of Standardization and Evaluation, commandant of cadets, operations planner, director of operations, squadron commander, group commander, wing commander, Military Deputy for Total Force Continuum, Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans and Programs at Headquarters Air Force, Director, Air Force Reserve Plans, Programs and Requirements, Headquarters Air Force. Prior to his current position, he was the Deputy Director for Global Policy and Partnerships on the Joint Staff, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
General Ogden has also deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as the Commander, 376th Operations Group, Manas Air Base, Kyrgyzstan, and as the Deputy Director of Mobility Forces, U.S. Air Forces Central, Southwest Asia. He is a command pilot with more than 4,500 hours in air refueling and rescue aircraft.
