BRIGADIER GENERAL DANA A. SIMMONS

Brig. Gen. Dana A. Simmons is the Commander of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, a field operating agency headquartered at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland.  Prior to that assignment, he served as the Vice Commander of AFOSI.  

General Simmons graduated from Texas State University and was commissioned in 1977 via the Reserve Officer Training Corps.  He has also served as the AFOSI Vice Commander, Andrews AFB, Md; Commander, AFOSI 5th Field Investigations Region, Ramstein Air Base, Germany; AFOSI 62nd Field Investigations Squadron, Yokota Air Base, Japan; and the 43rd Field Investigations Squadron, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.  He has served two tours in command of AFOSI detachments and earned the "Outstanding Large Detachment of the Year," a major-command-level award, for 1991. General Simmons has also served on the staff of Headquarters, Air Force Office of Special Investigations and 2nd Field Investigations Region.
