  • Airmen share financial freedom advice with elementary students

    Members of the 97th Air Mobility Wing read youth financial education books to 3rd graders at L. Mendel Rivers Elementary School during Military Financial Freedom Month, April 26 – 30, 2021. This was part of an initiative by the Airmen and Family Readiness Center to teach the importance of saving and spread financial literacy to local youths. Each day, new volunteers from the base came and read to the children about different financial topics including: working, saving, giving, spending, integrity and debt.

  • JBSA experiments with 5G Telemedicine, Medical Training

    In June 2020, Office of the Undersecretary of Defense (Research & Engineering) named Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) as an experimentation site for 5G augmented reality support for telemedicine and medical training. Although telemedicine is already happening today, it is often inhibited by a lack of adequate digital connectivity supporting the data speeds and volumes needed to provide real-time virtual healthcare.
  • 37 TRW takes virtual approach to hosting annual drill down

    JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas – Since 2017, the 37th Training Wing hosted the Drill Down Invitational. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the prospects of holding an in-person invitational this year were bleak.
