Air University's Jeanne M. Holm Center for Officer Accessions and Citizen Development was awarded the General Mark A. Welsh III One Air Force Award during the 2017 Air Force Association’s Air, Space and Cyberspace Conference Sept. 18, 2017.

Members from the Holm Center staff were in attendance at the AFA conference to receive the award on behalf of Brig. Gen. Billy Thompson, commander of Jeanne M. Holm Center for Officer Accessions and Citizen Development.

"The Holm Center finds great honor in accepting the General Welsh One Air Force Award because it showcases how we were able to standardize training, across the components, in order to mirror the way the Total Force fights today," Thompson said.

The award was given to Holm Center because it fully integrated active duty, Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve components to create a total force officer accessions team synchronized across Officer Training School and Reserve Officer Training Corps.  They created a common development path for officers from all commissioning components and fulfilled the vision of the National Commission on the Structure of the Air Force by presenting equal component representation.

Additionally, the Holm Center utilized the Volunteer Limited Period Active Duty program to build an integrated cadre and cadet construct at ROTC detachments, including 18 command opportunities, 77 Air Reserve Component instructors and commissioning of the first five of 115 programmed Air Reserve Component lieutenants.  They also succeeded in convincing Headquarters Air Force to expand the Accessions Program Guidance Letter to include Total Force Components.
