Returning leaders experience change, progression of 97 AMW Published April 22, 2022 97th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Former 97th Air Mobility Wing leaders and their spouses returned to Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, April 19, 2022, to attend the first “Legacy of the Spear” celebration and immerse themselves in the changes the 97th AMW has undergone throughout the past 30 years. Gen. David Allvin, Air Force Vice Chief of Staff, hosted an all call open to all base personnel to speak on the importance of the 97th AMW and what it means to be an American Airman. Senior leaders toured the base, visiting locations such as base housing, the flight line, Rivers Elementary School, Club Altus and more. Many of them also hosted panels for Airmen across the wing, openly discussing change, hardships and improvements that the 97th AMW has undergone.
