AETC hosts Air Force Day at the Alamo, celebrates Fiesta on April 28 Published April 21, 2025 Air Education and Training Command Public Affairs JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- Air Education and Training Command invites the public to celebrate with Fiesta at Air Force Day at the Alamo on April 28, 2025, from 11 a.m. to noon at Alamo Plaza in downtown San Antonio. Attendees can expect to hear from Brig. Gen. Craig McPike, deputy commander for Air Force Recruiting Service, JBSA-Randolph. Following, they may observe Air Education and Training Command Airmen as they showcase Air Force capabilities. Highlights include: Dynamic Demonstrations: Witness the skills of Military Working Dogs and handlers, and the precision of an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team. Musical Entertainment: Enjoy a performance by the renowned United States Air Force Band of the West. Citizens of Character: Admire the talents of Northside ISD’s John Paul Stevens High School Air Force Junior ROTC drill team as they provide a demonstration. Interactive Exhibits: Explore various displays and learn about the AETC's vital role in recruiting, training, and educating Airmen. Air Force Day at the Alamo, and Fiesta’s many military-focused events, is a testament to the enduring bond between the San Antonio community and the many servicemembers who call Military City USA home. The festival originally began in 1891 as a parade to honor the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. It has since evolved into a citywide celebration with over 100 events and is one of the country's premier festivals.
