Col. Richard Erb in Section 8 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, Dec. 3, 2025. Erb followed his lifelong passion for flying by serving in the U.S. Air Force for over 28 years. During this time, he made major contributions as a tactical fighter pilot to the A-7, A-10 and F-15 programs. He also served in Vietnam where he flew C-130s. Erb’s military awards include the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal w/ OLC. He was laid to rest alongside his wife, Barbara.
