  • Air Force installs system to protect drinking water near Luke AFB

    The Air Force Civil Engineer Center has completed installation and testing of a water filtration system that reduces Perfluorooctanoic Acid and Perfluorooctane Sulfonate from drinking water near Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., to levels below the Environmental Protection Agency’s lifetime health advisories.

  • EFMP provides specialized services, family support, care

    A family unit can be a unique dynamic filled with members who are continuously developing, growing and coming into their own. While each member navigates their personal experience, additional services may be needed to ensure optimal support and care. A program in place equipped to assist with specialized needs and care is the Exceptional Family Member Program. Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, has two EFMP-Family Support coordinators who serve as a central focal point for all EFMP related information.
  • Key Spouse Program provides critical support to families

    An elite team of volunteers serve as a communication link between the wing commander and Luke Air Force Base families. They are known as key spouses. “The Key Spouse Program is a peer-to-peer support program and a way for spouses to volunteer,” said Jessica Maldonado, 944th Fighter Wing Airman and Family Readiness director. “Key spouses are appointed by the wing commander to come alongside military members and leaders to provide support to families, particularly the spouses.”
  • Luke Reserve squadron welcomes new members and families

    Reserve Citizen Airmen and their families new to the 944th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron visited the unit during a newcomers’ orientation Jan. 10 at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. Col. Scott Briese, 944th Maintenance Group commander, welcomed the newcomers and gave a presentation covering the squadron’s mission.
