  • CAP cadets converge on Laughlin

    Twenty-eight high school Civil Air Patrol students from across America converged on Laughlin June 8 through 15 to get a first-hand course in pilot training. CAP is the official civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and is a volunteer organization with an aviation-minded membership including people from all backgrounds, lifestyles and occupations.
  • First Vietnamese student graduates from US Aviation Leadership Program

    Capt. Toai Dang, of Vietnam Air Defense-Air Force, became the first Vietnamese student to graduate from the Aviation Leadership Program (ALP) on May 31 at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi. ALP is a U.S. Air Force-funded program, providing students of partner and developing countries with undergraduate pilot training scholarships.

    All Laughlin members are invited to attend Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training Class 19-10’s graduation ceremony at 9 a.m., May 31, 2019, in Anderson Hall, here. Col. (retired) Carl W. Rahn, 618th Air Operations Center director of operations, will be the guest speaker.
  • "Alley Cats" lead the way in T-1 pilot production

    Last year, the 48th Flying Training Squadron “Alley Cats” were the leading creator of Air Force pilots, graduating 233 pilots.
