  • Special Operations flight surgeon earns second set of wings

    For Capt. Matt Stein, earning his pilot wings from the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program was not the first time he donned a set of wings. Prior to arriving for Undergraduate Pilot Training at ENJJPT, Stein was a Special Operations Forces Medical Element flight surgeon for the 1st Special Operations Wing, Hurlburt Field, Florida.
  • AETC leadership visits Sheppard

    Lt. Gen. Darryl Roberson, commander of Air Education and Training Command and Chief Master Sgt. David Staton, AETC command chief, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, took a quick three-day trip to visit Team Sheppard June 28 – 30. The two top AETC leaders received mission briefings, participated in round table discussions and met with community leaders. The general, who graduated from pilot training at Sheppard in 1984, also held an all call in Hangar 1045.
  • Pilot program remains laser-focused in the face of an Air Force pilot shortage

    Officials with the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program remain laser-focused on maximizing training production as the Air Force faces a growing pilot shortage. “The Air Force is currently about 500 pilots short of requirements,” Col. Paul Moga, 80th Flying Training Wing vice commander, said. “And that number is projected to reach 800 by 2022.”
