    Maj. Gen. Michele Edmondson took command of 2nd Air Force from Maj. Gen. Andrea Tullos during a change of command ceremony at Keesler AFB, Mississippi, July 30. Edmondson is now responsible for the development, oversight and direction of all operational aspects of basic military training, initial skills training and advanced technical training of all Air Force enlisted members and support officers.

  • Air University commander experiences AFROTC Field Training

    Lt. Gen. James Hecker, commander and president of Air University, visited Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center, Mississippi, July 13 to observe the training and evaluation of cadets at Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Field Training 2021. Though the training usually takes place at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, a combination of factors including impacts to the 2020 training cycle from COVID-19 led to the decision to move the encampment to Camp Shelby. Hecker was accompanied by commanders and stakeholders in the training enterprise.
