JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas -- The third episode of "Developing Mach-21 Airmen," Air Education and Training Command's professional development podcast series, was released Feb. 25.
In the episode, AETC’s command historian, Gary Boyd, as well as Bill Manchester, an AETC staff historian and director of museums at JBSA-Lackland, discuss the Airmen Heritage Training Complex, a project aimed at creating a new state-of-the art Air Force heritage teaching facility to highlight and learn from the sacrifices and achievements of our enlisted force to better acculturate Airmen attending basic and initial skills training.
The professional development podcasts are designed to help communicate and inform Total Force Airmen across the globe on relevant, timely topics related to the recruiting, training, education and development fields and can be listened to on the government network on the AETC website, or via mobile application as well as on Apple Podcasts (iTunes). For Android or Google mobile users, the podcast can be found on their favorite third-party podcast phone application.
Episode one featured Air Force basic military training, while episode two focused on being a recruiter, including the developmental special duty process and the pros and cons of the recruiting world.
Future episodes are set to cover a wide range of topics, including innovation; Pilot Training Next 2.0, which is the Air Force’s experimental approach to learning; how virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed-reality are changing the landscape of technical training, and much more.
