JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas – The new Air Force Handbook 1 phone application is the topic on the latest episode of Air Education and Training Command’s "Developing Mach-21 Airmen" podcast series, released Sep. 12, 2019.
On the pod, Chief Master Sgt. Steve West, AFH1 program manager at AETC's Studies and Analysis Squadron, discusses the phone application intended for both professional development and promotion testing preparation.
The AFH1 phone application includes the “The Air Force Handbook 1,” and study guide, as well as Air Force Instruction 36-2618, The Enlisted Force Structure, known as the “The Little Brown Book.” There is also access to the “The Little Blue Book” which focuses on the profession of arms. Other tools such as flash cards, audio and practice tests can also be found on the app.
West goes in depth about the learning tools inside the app, as well as resources and saved content capabilities of the app, which is available now on both iOS and Android at no cost to Airmen.
The professional development podcasts are designed to help communicate and inform Total Force Airmen across the globe on relevant, timely topics related to the recruiting, training, education and development fields and can be listened to on the government network on the AETC website, or via mobile application as well as on Apple Podcasts (iTunes). For Android or Google mobile users, the podcast can be found on their favorite third-party podcast phone application.
