12th Flying Training Wing

The 12th Flying Training Wing, headquartered at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, develops the next generation of Air Force aviators and enlisted aircrew by providing world-class flying training and education. The wing trains Airmen in the fundamentals of airmanship, instruction and leadership, preparing them for success in operational units across the Air Force. Through undergraduate Combat Systems Officer training, Pilot Instructor Training, Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals, Remotely Piloted Aircraft pilot indoctrination, enlisted aviator training, and other specialized programs, the 12th FTW produces skilled, adaptable, and combat-ready professionals capable of meeting the demands of today's complex operating environment while strengthening the future of American airpower.

Register now for AETC virtual mentorship panel Sept. 14

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas – Civilian leaders will host the “Soaring to New Heights: a Leadership Perspective” virtual mentorship panel, Sept. 14 at 9 to 10:30 a.m. CDT.

 

The event is hosted by Air Education and Training Command’s Mentoring Council, which is composed of Airmen from around the command, and will allow the panelists to share their personal perspectives on mentoring and the impact it has made on their lives and career progression.

 

The panelists are: Kimberley Toney, executive director at the Air Force Personnel Center; Amy Graveley, director of logistics, engineering and force protection at Headquarters AETC; and Brian Roush, director of the 502nd Force Support Squadron.  

 

The panelists will introduce tools that Total Force members can use for their professional and personal growth, and to better understand the benefits of mentoring in their development. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to ask panelists questions during the event.

 

“This panel is the third mentorship event AETC’s Mentoring Council has hosted this year,” said Robert Fishback, AETC civilian force development specialist and the event’s point of contact. “It follows a hugely successful two-day leadership mentoring symposium held in late January, and an event featuring Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force JoAnne Bass in late May.”

 

Registration for the event is open to all Total Force members. To register and to get the event link, e-mail gregory.jenkins.9@us.af.mil. Registration closes Sept. 10 and is limited to 1,000 people.

 

Total Force Airmen who are interested in finding a mentor are encouraged to utilize the Air Force mentoring tool located in MyVector. Mentees will be able to select a mentor based on their preferences, chat with their mentor online, complete a mentoring plan, and invite selected individuals to review and comment on their plan. Additionally, mentees can find a tool for self-development linked to the Air Force’s foundational competencies.

Public Affairs Information

Tours of the 12th Flying Training Wing are provided to various community organizations, high schools, businesses, and academic military recruitment programs to educate their members about the 12th FTW mission.

Due to the high volume of requests and limited public affairs resources, tours and static displays are limited.

Please submit all requests in writing to the 12th FTW Public Affairs by email to 12ftw.pa.1@us.af.mil at least three weeks but no more than six weeks in advance. You may also call 210-652-1272.

Tours are not available on weekends and may be cancelled at any time because of increased security measures or mission requirements. The 12th FTW does not host tours of Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph at-large. To schedule a tour of JBSA-Randolph, please contact JBSA-Randolph Public Affairs at 502abw.pa.official@us.af.mil or dial 210-652-4410.

If desired, requestors must arrange all meals. PA will provide contact information to base eateries. Modified tours will be granted for those with limited mobility - this must be stated on the tour request. If not stated, it is assumed that mobility is not an issue.
