19th Air Force is responsible for the training of more than 30,000 U.S. and allied students annually in numerous specialties ranging from aircrews, remotely piloted aircraft    crews, air battle managers, weapons directors, Air Force Academy Airmanship programs, and survival, escape, resistance, and evasion Specialists. They execute operational-level command and control of all formal aircrew flying training missions within Air Education and Training Command and provide Airmen with a 5th generation, cross-domain warrior mindset to the Combat Air Forces, Mobility Air Forces, and Special Operations Air Forces to sustain the combat capability of the United States Air Force.

    If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to fly a mile in a First Assignment Instructor Pilot’s shoes, log into Instagram and make sure your seat is in an upright and locked position. On June 24, 2021, 1st Lt. Courtland “Bang” White from Vance Air Force Base, Okla., will take over the AETC Instagram page—follow along at @aetc_firstcommand.
  • First Special Warfare Airmen graduate initial apprentice course for special reconnaissance

    The 352nd Special Warfare Training Squadron graduates the first wave of students from the new Special Reconnaissance Apprentice Course, June 17 at Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina. Formerly branded as Special Operations Weather Teams (SOWTs), the SR career field recently underwent a major restructuring. While short term weather forecasting will remain in the SR’s skillset, it will no longer dominate SR’s training and mission focus.
  • myLearning digital platform expands courseware; announces new features

    Air Education and Training Command’s “myLearning” system is entering phase two of its rollout, adding new features scheduled to be available to Airmen and Guardians early this summer. The Air Force’s 21st Century learning system is part of the service’s focus on deliberate development of the Total Force.
  • Current PCS, household goods affected by supply shortages

    According to a newly released communiqué from the Air Force’s Personal Property Activity Headquarters, “Department of Defense demand this peak (PCS) season has greatly exceeded commercial industry capabilities, largely due to resource constraints associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Per industry, this resulted in a 25% decrease in their labor pool, resulting in (decreased) personal property movement capacity necessary to support private sector and government demand.”
